Boulder County Farms to Visit This Season

Fall is the perfect season for getting outdoors and enjoying the crisp weather. There are a host of farms convenient to Broomfield to visit, and here, we highlight a few of our favorite destinations. Whether you’re interested in buying fresh produce or exploring a pumpkin patch, you’ll find an option for you below:

YA YA Farm and Orchard

The historic YA YA Farm and Orchard is located in Longmont, not far from Broomfield. At this century-old farm, you’ll have the opportunity to sample all things apple at the apple stand (including apple cider donuts and apple pie). The farm stand is open from August through November, and reservations aren’t required during open hours. Feel free to bring a picnic and have fun visiting the farm animals, including Percheron horses, mini donkeys, peacocks, and more. Although U-pick isn’t available this year, check back next year to pick fresh, locally-grown produce.

Munson Farms

Ready to stock up on fresh veggies? You won’t want to miss out on Munson Farms in Boulder. This farm has been operating since 1976 and specializes in growing sweet corn, tomatoes, peaches, and pumpkins. When you visit Munson Farms, you’ll be purchasing some of the freshest produce around, as most of the fruits and veggies are sold the same day they’re picked. The pumpkin patch is thriving right now, and you’ll have the option to pick your own straight from the vine or choose one that’s pre-picked. The farm is open daily from 9:00 am to 6:30 pm, so consider stopping by this fall.

Rock Creek Farm

Before you make plans to head to Rock Creek Farm, be sure to check in with the website or Facebook page first. This farm hasn’t officially made the call on whether they’ll host the pumpkin patch and fall festivities this year, but be on the lookout for a decision soon. Rock Creek Farm is located in Broomfield and offers a host of fun activities, including U-Pick-Em pumpkins, corn mazes, and opportunities to pet the farm animals. This 120-acre farm is beloved in Broomfield and beyond, so be sure to keep it in mind for next year even if the festivities are put on hold for 2020.
